Pennies for Peace: a free service-learning program
Help build bridges of peace— one penny at a time; service-learning program
The very first Pennies for Peace donation came from Westside Elementary School in River Falls, WI, raised 62,340 pennies to help build a school in Pakistan. That was the beginning of the Pennies for Peace program.
Today, Pennies for Peace is a robust service learning program that educates children about how they can make a positive impact on a global scale, one penny at a time. Participants collect pennies for students and teachers in CAI-supported schools in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.
In the villages where we work, a few pennies can buy a pencil, open the door to literacy, and change a life. CAI invites you, your children, your club, or your school to get involved.
Pennies for Peace offers a Free TOOLKIT with resources to support your Pennies for Peace project, and a standard-aligned K-12 CURRICULUM for educators.
It’s easy to start. Get involved today at penniesforpeace.org.
