The Power of Hope: Creating Funding for Scholarships
Every day women in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan are working to rise above extreme poverty, unimaginable hardship, and dangerous threats. Help them break the glass ceiling with education.
They have the grit, determination, and drive to succeed, but without funding for scholarships, their dreams still hang in the balance.
In this year’s summer edition of Footsteps read about four women determined to rise above these barriers to education. They represent hundreds more deserving students who could change the world, if only they had a chance.
Always pushing herself to the limit, Ayperi will use her master’s degree in law to pursue her passion for women’s rights and community activism. Raised by a single mother, her dream would be a fantasy without the help of a CAI scholarship.
She was told to stay home by members of a militant group. Instead, she went back to school through a scholarship from CAI to earn her degree in Economics.
She became a single mother after leaving her abusive ex-husband and striking out on her own. She is determined to be a role model to her daughter and other women by earning a Ph.D. in Chemistry.
In 2005 an earthquake destroyed her home and le her with only one leg. She thought her chances for education were over until a CAI scholarship gave her the chance to pursue her dream. Now, she wants to be a doctor.
Join hundreds of other supporters and help deserving students gain the knowledge they need to rise above the barriers and become the future doctors, engineers, and leaders of these countries.
