VIRTUAL EVENT

Join CAI for a conversation about girls’ education in Afghanistan.

You're Invited

Next month will mark one year since U.S. troops withdrew from Afghanistan and the Taliban took control of the country. This past year has been riddled with uncertainty, extensive crisis, and significant steps backward for Afghan women and girls. Yet while the hardships have been unimaginable, Afghan women have once again proved to be resilient and powerful – standing and fighting for their rights, especially education.

Join us for an intimate conversation with CAI Executive Director Alice Thomas and special guest Hassina Sherjan, an Afghan women’s rights activist and Founder and Executive Director of Aid Afghanistan for Education (AAE).

During this event you’ll learn more about how CAI is partnering with AAE to make education possible for girls (and boys) despite the Taliban’s reign of repression and fear. Ms. Sherjan and Ms. Thomas will also reflect on the struggles and successes of this past year and share their vision and hope for girls’ education in Afghanistan moving forward.

We welcome you, the CAI community who makes this work possible, to join us for this timely conversation.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,
Sonja Bahr
Senior Development Officer
